Naked Truth: MAC Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder

Grease Ball. That is the nickname I give my face in the summer: Greeease Ball. I am always in search of products that will keep the oil at bay especially during the summer months. So when my friend pulled out the new Mac Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed during a recent touch-up session, I knew that she was on to something. It was like magic – her skin stayed matte throughout the evening and her pores instantly disappeared.

It took me a minute, but I remembered using the non-compact version in high school and I do not remember why I ever stopped using it. I purchased the powder version and I fell in love all over again. It sets makeup to perfection without changing the colour of your foundation and it does not leave a white cast (no powder residue is detectable in pictures taken with flash). So do not be scared to try this all white powder. It’s very sheer and suitable for all skin tones but those with dry skin or fine lines may want to steer clear. It may emphasize fine lines or any dryness on the skin. Also, go easy on the powder as a little goes a long way. I like to pour a bit on the back of my hand and I take either a powder brush like the E.L.F. Studio Kabuki and buff it in or a MAC Powder Puff and press it on to my skin. I prefer to pour a bit on the back of my hand as not to go crazy with the powder.

It’s a godsend for anyone with oily skin and the pressed version (which I have also tested) is more travel friendly and as good.
